Two days in Graz – how to make your weekend perfect
Day 1 belongs to the old town: start at Hauptplatz, wander through the lanes of the UNESCO World Heritage old town and head up the Schlossberg – on foot, by funicular or by lift. At the top, the clock tower awaits along with a wonderful view over the red rooftops. In the afternoon, the Kunsthaus is well worth a visit, and in the evening, a spot in the old town.
Day 2 is all about taking it easy: the Murinsel out in the middle of the river combines architecture with a coffee break, the farmers’ market at Kaiser-Josef-Platz tempts with Styrian specialities, and Schloss Eggenberg shows off baroque at its finest. If you fancy it, tack on a trip out to the vineyards of Southern Styria.
