What makes the Murtal special?
The Murtal is Austria’s motorsport heart: the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg hosts Formula 1, MotoGP and DTM. But the region can do far more than racing – all around, gentle alpine pastures, hiking trails and mountain lakes are waiting to help you recharge.
In winter, the Lachtal becomes a playground: groomed slopes, toboggan runs and winter hiking trails at around 1,600 metres. In summer, alpine hikes, bike tours and the calm of the Upper Styria region beckon.
Right in the middle of it all is the Edelweiss Lodge in the Lachtal – your base camp right on the mountain. From here you’re quickly at the racetrack and just as quickly out in nature. If you’re coming from Graz, you’ll get there in about an hour.
